How you tell your story can change everything.

Furphy Finalist

Founder of Eynesbury Press, Amy Montague was awarded third place in the prestigious Furphy Literary Award for her short story All The Moments I Still Live In.

The story explores memory, grief, and identity through a fragmented narrative that slips between past and present, anchored by the voice of an elderly Maltese-Australian woman confronting the limits of her autonomy and mind.

“This recognition means the world to me, not just as validation, but as a reminder that the kinds of stories I care about most, quiet, character-driven, emotionally layered, can find their place and their readers.”

Competition Judge, and esteemed Publisher, John Kerr wrote of her work: “The author opens by taking us straight into Maria’s now, her present, and then — almost imperceptibly — into moments Maria still lives in. ‘Imperceptibly’ is a sin in a writer, a negation of duty to a reader. The author’s handling of this is masterful.”
